Hoosier Herpetological Society
You won't want to miss our booth displaying some of Indiana's native amphibians and reptiles. Some are touchable and this is a great way to see them up close and personal. The HHS is a non-profit organization dedicated to the education of our members and the public. We also stand for conservation concerning amphibians and reptiles. Amphibians and reptiles or herps as we know them, are fascinating creatures that have many colors, sizes, and adaptions to survive in our Indiana natural habitats. Right now, frogs and salamanders are in full swing in our swamps, marshes, and other water habitats. Those sounds you are hearing around Starkey park and other habitats aren't insects. They are frogs! Insects don't start calling until mid-to-late summer. I'll be there to answer all of your questions about herps! See you there! Jim Horton President - Hoosier Herpetoloical Society
